God has a plan!

It has been a busy week/weekend! God reminded me this weekend that HE IS in control! I thought I had everything planned out, but God changed the plans! I was blessed to be able to spend the weekend with the Palacios Family again. I was a little nervous because Pamela wasn’t going to be there and she was the one who translated everything! Marco, their son, speaks English, but he is a guy who doesn’t converse much! Anyway, on Saturday they took me to a buffet restaurant and I tried many new things! Everything was pretty tasty, but the sushi!! Marco and I did not enjoy that one bit! My favorite part was the desserts, of course! That night we went to their young adult bible study and it was a blast seeing everyone again! Sunday we had church in the morning…it is awesome when God communicates for you! After church and lunch, I went with the Palacios to vote for Chile’s primary elections. Government topics are not my best, so when Miguel Palacios asked me questions about United States voting and elections I had to smile and laugh! I tried my best, but we didn’t get anywhere. Miguel was a good sport about it though! All in all it was a wonderful, relaxed weekend!

Today I was having a rough time with missing home and worrying about what I am going to do for two weeks without teaching at the school. (Next week and the following are winter break for the school I teach at). Then came God’s perfect timing…I received a letter from Kristi Diehl and just started crying waterworks in front of the girls. (Thank you so much for the letter Kristi, it was so encouraging!) The girls were so sweet and loving. A little later two of the girls came up to me full of smiles and hugs…”We got you some marshmallows so tonight we can build a fire and toast them! We also got you a loaf of bread from the United States!” Then of course the waterworks came again! It was the simplest thing, but meant so much! A blessing….Thank you Jesus! Please be in prayer for the coming two weeks and that I would just trust God’s plans even when I have no idea what they are. Also, please pray for Paulina, who is another one of the girls I have gotten real close to at the House of Hope. She is leaving Saturday to go back home for break and won't return before I leave; please pray for her safety and for the time this week we have together. It is going to be really difficult saying goodbye. Thank you so much for your prayers and encouraging words…they mean so much to me!
